President Kaljulaid met the UN Secretary General with her Baltic colleagues

President Kersti Kaljulaid, while participating in the 78. General Assembly of the UN in New York this week, met tonight with the UN Director General António Guterres along with the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and President of Latvia Egils Levits.
At the meeting President Kaljulaid stressed the importance of trusted connectivity. “In the next decades one of the biggest challenges will be the discussion how democratic countries should approach the development of economically and security-wise important infrastructure,” President Kaljulaid said.
The developments in Afghanistan, security in the Baltic region and the events in Belarus were also discussed at the meeting.
Last week Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania celebrated 30 years anniversary of joining the UN.
